Classes from Standard 1 to 5 with each standard having 2 sections each.

Students collectively decide the class to be taken for each day and the freedom given to students are never misused by them. This habit cultivates the practice of thinking about their needs and requirements and promotes decision making skills. Teachers do more homework than the students to keep them engaged in learning activity in the most creative manner possible. Slow learners are given more importance and attention.

After school hours, slow learners are given special priority to motivate and give them personal attention. Other students are also randomly selected with slow learners to eliminate any discriminatory mindsets on the students. Parents are invited periodically to school as at AVS, we stress parents’ responsibilities more. Parents’ are regularly updated about the activities in the school and the relationship between teacher and parent is closely bonded in a way that teachers are treated as a member of a family.

Students are encouraged to use the library at anytime they feel. Library is open 24X7 and each student is rewarded a book once they finish reading 10 books. This practice helps them build a home library for themselves.

The Routine

Morning assembly will start with students sharing about previous day events. Special events like birthday of children is celebrated and a tree sapling is presented as a gift to the children. Students are asked about their breakfast and incase of anyone missing them, they will be provided with the meal.

There is no specific timetable for the classes and the topic of classes are decided based on the collective decision of the children. This enables the children to think and express their needs.
